Problem: There is a large untapped workforce under 18. Their extra time can be used to help local activities, such as educating elderlies to use a computer software, hanging Christmas lights.
I designed this project with a team at startup weekend Irvine in 2013. We did intercept interviews at the nearby shopping center, and quickly validated the concepts and move forward.
I designed the identity, UI and the presentation deck. A mobile app for people to find and post small jobs from their neighbors who need the extra hand. “Task Rabbit for teens” if you will. Built with parental approval, even for kids age 13-18 to find simple work around the neighborhood and earn money. Although, we didn’t win. I learned sale pitch, collaborate and communicate with team members with various skill sets and make decision quickly with limited pieces of evidence.
